What does it check?

Syntax, property names and whether each value is valid for its property according to the CSS specs.

Are custom properties supported?

Yes. Variables like --brand-color are accepted.

Why is a new property reported?

Very new or vendor-prefixed properties may be missing from the spec data. Check browser support if unsure.
